It took a clutch corner three from sophomore Kevin Huerter, but the Hawks have finally won in San Antonio for the first time since 1997.

None of the players in the Hawks' starting line-up - Trae Young, Kevin Huerter, John Collins, Cam Reddish, and De'Andre Hunter - were born by January 11th, 1997 - the last time the Hawks won in San Antonio.

Back in 1997, it was an overtime 87-82 win where Christian Laettner top-scored for the Hawks with 26 points and Dominique Wilkins, who's jersey is retired by the Hawks, received a DNP (Did Not Play) for the San Antonio Spurs.

Another interesting anecdote from this game is that the last time the Hawks beat the Spurs, Vince Carter hadn't begun his 21-year career in the league. And prior to the game, the Spurs paid tribute to Carter, who was playing his final game in San Antonio:

In this game, the Hawks had five players finish in double figures with Trae Young and Cam Reddish being the top contributors. Young recorded a game-high 31 points (10-16 FG's) while adding nine assists and Reddish finished with 22 points (8-13 FG's), five rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

For the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan continued his hot streak by scoring 25 points on 9-of-18 shooting, narrowly missing a triple-double with nine rebounds and nine assists. LaMarcus Aldridge was the team's top-scorer with 30 (11-20 FG's), while Dejounte Murray contributed across the stat sheet with 13 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
