Kevin Durant injury update: Brooklyn Nets superstar forward to miss time with strained left hamstring

The Brooklyn Nets will be without superstar forward Kevin Durant to begin a big week as he misses time due to a mild left hamstring strain.

Brooklyn Sunday announced that Durant will sit out for at least the team's next two games with the hamstring injury that he suffered in the team's win over the Golden State Warriors. Despite the injury, Durant finished the game with 20 points, six rebounds and five assists in 33 minutes of action.

The Nets game in San Francisco was the first game of a five-game Western Conference road trip that includes a few premier matchups. Brooklyn's upcoming schedule is as follows:

Nets upcoming schedule
Date (ET) Opponent Time (ET)
Monday, Feb. 15 at Sacramento Kings 10:00 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 16 at Phoenix Suns 10:00 p.m.
Thursday, Feb. 18 at Los Angeles Lakers 10:00 p.m.
Saturday, Feb. 20 at LA Clippers 8:00 p.m.

After missing the entirety of the 2019-20 season while rehabbing his Achilles tendon, Durant has missed nine of Brooklyn's first 28 games due to injury management as well as the NBA's health and safety protocols. His performance against the Warriors came after missing a week of action due to protocols.

The 32-year-old is back to his MVP form, posting averages of 29.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.4 assists on .524/.434/.869 shooting splits to lead the Nets.
