Detroit Pistons forward Jerami Grant has been placed under USA Basketball's health and safety protocols, the organization has announced.
The news comes in conjunction with the announcement that Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal will be unable to participate in the Olympic Games after being placed under the same health and safety protocols.

Out of an abundance of caution, Jerami Grant has been placed under health & safety protocols.
While Beal will be held out of participation, USA Basketball added that Grant's placement under the protocols is out of an abundance of caution. According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Grant has not tested positive for COVID-19.
Grant, 27, is making his first appearance with the United States Senior Men's National Team after posting averages of 22.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists over 54 games with the Pistons in the 2020-21 NBA season.
In Team USA's most recent outing, a 28-point win over Argentina, Grant recorded three blocks and two rebounds in eight minutes of action.
Before travelling to Japan, the United States Senior Men's Team has two more exhibitions as it faces Australia on Friday, July 16 and Spain on Sunday, July 18. Team USA opens its Olympic schedule on Sunday, July 25 when it takes on the French National Team.
