The Golden State Warriors announced on Friday that Stephen Curry underwent successful surgery on his broken left hand.
An update on the two-time MVPs status will be provided in three months, the Warriors added.

That timeline will keep Curry sidelined until the first week of February at the earliest, meaning he could miss close to 50 games.
Curry suffered the injury in Golden State's loss to the Phoenix Suns earlier this week. It occured with 8:31 remaining in the third quarter when Suns centre Aron Baynes accidently landed on his hand.
Curry was leading the Warriors in scoring with an average of 20.3 points per game prior to his injury. Golden State is 1-3 to start the season, its lone victory coming against the New Orleans Pelicans, a game in which Curry scored 26 points and dished out 11 assists.
In Curry's absence, the Warriors will turn to one-time All-Star D'Angelo Russell and three-time All-Star Draymond Green to lead the offence.
