Gordon Hayward: Charlotte Hornets forward to miss at least four weeks with right foot sprain

The Charlotte Hornets are going to be without Gordon Hayward for some time.

On Friday, Hayward suffered a right foot sprain in the second quarter of Charlotte's win over the Indiana Pacers. On Saturday, the Hornets announced that he will be reevaluated in approximately four weeks.

That puts Hayward at risk of missing Charlotte's next 15 games.

In his first season with the Hornets, Hayward is averaging 19.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game. According to NBA.com, the Hornets are outscoring opponents by 0.7 points per 100 possessions with Hayward on the court. With him on the bench, they're being outscored by 1.3 points per 100 possessions.

With a 25-23 record, the Hornets currently have the fourth-best record in the Eastern Conference.

According to Tankathon, the Hornets have the 10th-easiest remaining schedule this season, with their opponents having a combined winning percentage of .485.
