Golden State Warriors guard D'Angelo Russell will miss the team's home again against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday, with a right ankle sprain, per Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

The 23-year-old suffered the injury in their 127-110 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday.

Through his first five games with the Warriors this season, Russell is averaging 19.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 6.4 assists, shooting 38.6 percent from the field and 31.4 percent from beyond the arc.

The Warriors have been struck with injuries this season, with Steph Curry undergoing surgery to repair his broken left hand, which will keep him sidelined for three months, while Draymond Green was also injured against the Spurs, suffering a left index finger injury.

Green was diagnosed with a torn ligament in his finger, with coach Steve Kerr saying he will miss "the next few games, for sure," according to ESPN's Nick Friedell. While a specific timeline was not given for his return, the injury is not expected to be a long-term absence, according to The Athletic's Anthony Slater .

At 1-4, the Warriors are off to their worst start to a season since 2009-10.
