Golden State Warriors announce Steph Curry's NBA return will be further delayed

Absent since suffering a broken left hand against the Phoenix Suns at the beginning of November, two-time MVP Steph Curry was originally hopeful of returning to face the Washington Wizards this weekend.

Instead, the Golden State Warriors released the following statement, announcing that the superstar guard will remain sidelined for a little while longer.

As mentioned in the release, the expectation is that Curry will return sometime in March, with Steve Kerr admitting at practice that Curry was not exactly pleased with the decision.

"He was not thrilled, but Steph is always very rational and easy to speak with. He put up a little fight, but also understood why we wanted to take extra precaution," Kerr said.

Curry averaged 20.3 points and 6.5 assists in his four appearances this season, with the Warriors holding a 1-3 record in those games.

Golden State possess the league's worst record overall at 12-47 as they prepare to miss the postseason for the first time since 2012.
