Golden State Warriors announce D'Angelo Russell will miss at least two weeks with right thumb sprain

The Golden State Warriors have been hit by another injury.

The Warriors announced on Saturday that D'Angelo Russell will be re-evaluated in two weeks after spraining his right thumb in the team's loss to the Boston Celtics.

Russell won't travel with the team on its upcoming road trip, the Warriors added.

Russell suffered the injury around the midpoint of the third quarter of Golden State's matchup with Boston. He went to the locker room and never returned, finishing with 12 points, seven assists and nine turnovers in 25 minutes of action.

As ESPN's Bobby Marks tweeted, the Warriors are now down to nine healthy players. In addition to Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Russell, Kevon Looney, Jacob Evans, Alen Smailagic and Damion Lee are each dealing with injuries.

Russell has appeared in 10 games with the Warriors this season. He's averaging a career-high 24.3 points to go along with 6.7 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 0.8 steals on 45.5 percent shooting from the field.
