After a one-day break, the NBA was back in a major way with a busy 13-game schedule.

With 26 of the league's 30 teams in action, there was to be no shortage of storylines to follow. Before we get to the scores and highlights, here are a few of the standout performances from the night.

  • Trae Young drops an equal career-high 49 points in the Hawks OT loss to Indiana
  • Luka Doncic torments the team that passed on him the draft
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo has 33 points and 12 rebounds as the Bucks win their 10th straight game
  • LeBron and AD continue their dominance to start the season
  • Kawhi's return to San Antonio ends in a surprise loss for the Clippers

Boston Celtics 107 vs. Brooklyn Nets 112 -- FINAL

Spencer Dinwiddie starred for Brooklyn with 32 points and 11 assists, while Jarrett Allen had a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double as the Nets claimed revenge for their loss to Boston two days earlier.

Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 26 points and nine rebounds.

Charlotte Hornets 110 vs. Detroit Pistons 107 -- FINAL

P.J Washington knocked down two free-throws with 47 seconds left for Charlotte, as the Hornets took a 110-107 win over Detroit.

Washington led Charlotte with 26 points, five rebounds and three assists, while Derrick Rose top scored for the Pistons with 23 points.

 

Toronto Raptors vs. Orlando Magic -- FINAL

Norman Powell picked up the scoring slack on a rare off night for Pascal Siakam. Powell dropped 33 points as Toronto take out a defensive struggle in Orlando.

Milwaukee Bucks 119 vs. Cleveland Cavaliers 110 -- FINAL

It took Giannis one play to introduce himself to the Cavs in this one. A thunderous dunk to tip things off was just the beginning for Antetokounmpo, as he finished with 33 points and 12 rebounds as the Bucks withstood a 17-for-34 shooting from deep from the Cavs to extend their winning streak to 10 games.

Philadelphia 76ers 101 vs. New York Knicks 95 -- FINAL

Philadelphia were able to close out the game late in a closer than expected game in New York.

Joel Embiid was big down the stretch, and finished with 27 points and 17 rebounds. Julius Randle had 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Knicks.

Atlanta Hawks 104 vs. Indiana Pacers 105 -- FINAL OT

The Indiana Pacers were able to withstand a 49-point effort from Trae Young, to survive overtime and pick up the win.

Jeremy Lamb led the Pacers with 20 points, as all five starters finished with double-digit scoring.

Golden State Warriors 105 vs. Miami Heat 122 -- FINAL

Miami got off to a sizzling start in the first-quarter, taking a 41-21 lead and never looked back in the comfortable win over Golden State.

None of the Heat starters played more than 30 minutes, with Tyler Herro dropping 19 points off the bench in 26 minutes.

Utah Jazz 103 vs. Memphis Grizzlies 94 -- FINAL

Bojan Bogdanovic continues to let it fly with the Jazz, as he poured in 33 points on 4-for-8 shooting from three. Leading by just two points heading into the fourth, Utah were able to pull away late for a tough road win.

Jonas Valanciunas had 22 points and 17 rebounds in a losing effort for the Grizzlies.

New Orleans Pelicans 104 vs. Oklahoma City Thunder 109 -- FINAL

Dennis Schroder exploded for 25 points off the bench, as the OKC Thunder took an important home win over the Pelicans.

Brandon Ingram continued his impressive start to the season with 26 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

LA Clippers 97 vs. San Antonio Spurs 107 -- FINAL

It was an unsuccessful return to San Antonio for Kawhi Leonard, as the Spurs finished comfortable double-digit winners.

LaMarcus Aldridge and Derrick White each had 17 points for the Spurs, while Leonard had 19 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

Dallas Mavericks 120 vs. Phoenix Suns 113 -- FINAL

Luka Doncic visted Phoenix to haunt the franchise that could have taken him with the No. 1 overall pick in last year's NBA draft, as he went off for an equal career-high 42 points, nine rebounds and 11 assists in the Mavericks win over the Suns. 

Kelly Oubre Jr led the Suns with 22 points and 10 rebounds but it wasn't enough to overcome Doncic' monster night.

Chicago Bulls 103 vs. Portland Trail Blazers 107 -- FINAL

The revival of the Portland Trail Blazers season received another boost, as they were able to hold off the Chicago Bulls at home to move to 8-12 on the season.

Damian Lillard had 28 points for the Blazers, while Carmelo Anthony continued his strong play of late, adding 23 points on 8-for-16 shooting.

Washington Wizards 103 vs. Los Angeles Lakers 125 -- FINAL

After falling behind by 11 points early in the first-quarter, it was absolute domination for the Lakers, as they led by as many as 39 points in the 125-103 win.

Anthony Davis had 26 points and 13 rebounds, while LeBron James added 23 points and 11 assists, as the Lakers improved to a league best 17-2 on the season.
