Toronto Raptors' 'Earned Edition' uniforms for 2020-21 season revealed

The Toronto Raptors have added a new look to their uniform rotation for the second half of the 2020-21 season.

As one of 16 teams that qualified for the 2020 NBA Playoffs, the Raptors will have an "Earned" edition uniform, complete with silver accents to signify the accomplishment of advancing to the postseason.

The defending champion Los Angeles Lakers are the sole team to have a uniform that features gold accents.

Sticking with the chevron theme that was first made prominent on the Raptors' "City Edition" uniform in the 2017-18 season, this year's "Earned Edition" is prominently purple and black, an ode to the colour-blocking style inspired by the uniforms made popular by Vince Carter in the late '90s and early '00s, which featured chevrons on the side panel.

While this year's jersey is purple below the chevron, everything above is black as well as the entirety of the back. The shorts also feature a chevron styling with a black waistband and a white maple leaf at the waist.

In many ways, the concept of the "Earned Edition" uniform will forever be embedded within the DNA of the franchise as Toronto captured the 2019 NBA title while wearing their red "Earned Edition" uniforms that inspired the team's new uniform set that was introduced ahead of the 2020-21 season.

According to NBA.com's Lockervision, the Raptors will debut the "Earned Edition" uniform when they host the Golden State Warriors on April 2 at Amalie Arena. Toronto is slated to wear the uniforms an additional six times, including during the season finale against the Indiana Pacers on May 16.

It's also worth noting that the Raptors will debut their "City Edition" uniforms in the second half of the season as well, with their first appearance coming on March 19 when the team hosts the Utah Jazz. You can read more about this year's "City Edition" look here.
