Spain's Ricky Rubio capped off his impressive FIBA World Cup campaign, taking home the Tournament's Most Valuable Player award after their 95-75 win over Argentina in the gold medal game.

Rubio was joined in the 'All-Star Five' alongside teammate Marc Gasol, France's Evan Fournier, Serbia's Bogdan Bogdanovic and Argentina's Luis Scola.

Rubio and Gasol were instrumental in Spain's championship-winning run, while Scola turned back the clock to lead Argentina to the final.

The Spanish point guard averaged 16.4 points and six assists through Spain's undefeated (8-0) run at the tournament, recording 20 points, seven rebounds and three assists in the Final. The 28-year-old added another accolade to his résumé, passing Pablo Prigioni to become the World Cup's all-time leader in assists.

While Bogdanovic and Serbia were eliminated in the quarter-finals, the Sacramento Kings guard was the most electric offensive player in the tournament, finishing with the most points scored (183), averaging 22.9 points per game, while Fournier led France to the bronze medal, averaging 19.8 points per game.

Australia's Patty Mills made as compelling a case as anyone to be included in the five best players in the tournament, leading the Boomers in scoring with 22.8 points per game, adding 2.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists, while shooting 49.6 percent from the field and 40.4 percent from the three-point line.

The Aussie finished second in total scoring to Bogdanovic, with 182 points, while registering the tournament's highest single-game score, with 34 points against Spain in the semi-final.

While plenty thought Mills had done enough to secure a spot in the All-Star Five, Australia's fourth-placed finish looks to have been the deciding factor, with Fournier getting the nod over the Aussie.
