FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019: James Harden, Anthony Davis and Kyle Lowry headline 20-man Team USA training camp roster

Team USA today announced a star-studded 20-man roster for their training camp ahead of the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup in China.

James Harden, Anthony Davis and Kyle Lowry headline the invitees who will head to Las Vegas (August 5-9) for camp, which will be used to select the final 12-man roster for the tournament.

"I am excited about getting to training camp in August and working with all of the players that have been selected to attend the USA National Team training camp in Las Vegas," Team USA head coach Gregg Popovich said.

"We've got an excellent cross-section of veteran USA Basketball and NBA players, as well as some exciting younger players who possess amazing versatility."

Following the Vegas camp, which will conclude with a USA Blue versus USA White exhibition game on August 9 at the T-Mobile Arena, the selected team finalists will come together in Los Angeles from August 13-15, before taking on Spain at the Honda Center in Anaheim on August 16.

The team will then head to Australia for two blockbuster games on August 22 and 24 against the Australian National Team in Melbourne, before their final warm-up game against Canada in Sydney on August 26.

Crowds of over 50,000 are expected for each game at Marvel Stadium against the Aussies, who will field a team featuring a host of NBA players including Ben Simmons, Joe Ingles, Matthew Dellavedova and Patty Mills.

Team USA was drawn into Group E and will play its first-round games in Shanghai. They face the Czech Republic on September 1st in their opening game of the tournament, followed by games against Turkey and Japan.

The 32-team 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup competition will be held Aug. 31-Sept. 15 in China. Eight cities will host World Cup games - Beijing, Foshan, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Dongguan, Nanjing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
