Argentina pulled off a stunning upset on powerhouse Serbia to advance to the Semi-Finals of the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
It then edged France to advance to the World Cup Final, where it will take on an undefeated Spain team.
Former NBA player and veteran Luis Scola has been terrific in this impressive run by Argentina, but there was a lesser-known player who led the charge against the Serbs. Facundo Campazzo, Argentina's star guard, has been amazing at the World Cup and his 18 points, 12 assists and six rebounds earned him player of the game in their Quarter-Finals victory.
So who is Campazzo?
Facundo Campazzo is a 5-foot-11, 195-lbs. 28-year-old point guard from Córdoba, Argentina.
He competes for the Argentine National Team and plays professionally in the EuroLeague for Real Madrid.
FIBA Basketball World Cup
Campazzo has continued to impress at the FIBA Basketball World Cup in China.
He is averaging 13.8 points and 4.2 rebounds per game and his 48 assists lead the World Cup while his 8.0 assists per game average is good for second-best in the tournament. He has scored in double figures in every contest but one and has eclipsed five assists in all six games Argentina has played thus far.
His numbers have been fantastic, but his passing has been wizardly.

And those are just two of many crafty assists Campazzo has this tournament.
With Argentina standing in at 6-0, they await the winner of the United States-France game for a Semi-Finals showdown. No matter who wins, Campazzo will be put to the test against NBA talent like Kemba Walker, Donovan Mitchell, Marcus Smart, Frank Ntilikina or Evan Fournier.
Campazzo currently plays professionally for Real Madrid in the EuroLeague.
Campazzo began his Real Madrid career in 2014, signing a three-year deal after flashing success in the Argentine League. The Argentine point guard has won two EuroLeague titles and three Spanish League titles.
This past season with Real Madrid, Campazzo averaged 8.7 points, 5.2 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game - all career-highs.
National Team experience
Campazzo competed with Argentina's National Team at the 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics.
He's helped Argentina earn a number of medals in other international tournaments such as the South American Championship, FIBA Americas Championship, South American Games, FIBA Basketball World Cup, FIBA Americas Championship and the Pan American Games.
He has three gold medals, three silver medals and a bronze medal among those competitions, but has yet to help Argentina medal at the bigger events such as the FIBA Basketball World Cup or the Olympics.
