Enes Kanter: Three stats to know from the Portland Trail Blazers big man's monster 30-rebound night

#Kanter

Enes Kanter turned in a monster performance for the Portland Trail Blazers, recording 24 points and hauling in 30 rebounds in their 118-103 win over the Detroit Pistons.

Kanter has been rejuvenated this season back with the Blazers, currently fourth in the league in rebounds at 12.0 per game, despite coming off the bench for 18 of the 52 games he's appeared in.

Among the top five, Kanter is playing the fewest minutes per game at 26.7.

“Enes is such a great guy you could see the bench’s reaction and how happy the team was for him,” Blazers coach Terry Stotts said.

He broke the Blazers franchise record of 27 with 3:20 remaining in the fourth quarter, hauling in his 28th board, sending his teammates on the bench wild as they cheered on the Turkish rebounding machine.

Let's take a deeper dive inside the numbers of one of the best rebounding nights in recent history.

3: Kanter joins Dwight and Love

Kanter's monster night was just the third 20+ point, 30+ rebound game in the last 20 years, joining Dwight Howard (32 PTS, 30 REB) in 2018 and Kevin Love (31 PTS, 31 REB) in 2010.

1: Kanter sets franchise record

Kanter now holds the Trail Blazers franchise record for most rebounds in a game with his 30-rebound performance, breaking Sidney Wicks' previous record of 27 which came against the Los Angeles Lakers in 1975.

Portland Trail Blazers single-game rebound records

Player Rebounds Year
Enes Kanter 30 2021
Sidney Wicks  27 1975
LeRoy Ellis  26 1970
Bill Walton  26 1977
Joel Przybilla  26 2008

"My team trusted me, they were rooting for me," Kanter said post-game

"One of the assistant coaches...came up to me and said 27 is the Blazers record, so you better go get out there and get 28."

Kanter's 12 offensive rebounds on the night were also a Trail Blazers franchise record.

16: Kanter joins exclusive club

Since 1983-84, only 15 times has a player recorded 30+ rebounds, with Kanter joining the list tonight.

Charles Oakley leads the pack with 35 rebounds in 1988, while Dennis Rodman is the only player since 1983-84 with multiple 30+ rebound games, reaching the mark on five occasions, with his best night coming in 1992 while playing for the Detroit Pistons, hauling in 34 boards.
