Luka Doncic again joins elite company, leads Dallas Mavericks past Houston Rockets with monster night

Another game, another big performance from Luka Doncic and another win for the Dallas Mavericks.

The 20-year-old superstar finished with 41 points (on 15-for-29 shooting), 10 assists and six rebounds to lead the Mavs to a big-time 14-point road win over the Houston Rockets.

It's the fourth-consecutive game in which Doncic has scored 30 or more points and dished out 10 or more assists, placing him in pretty elite company as he is just the fourth player to do so since the 1983-84 NBA season.

Fittingly, Doncic took the floor with two of the three and continued his "sneaker free agency" by donning Air Jordan sneakers.

As for joining them, Doncic kept the big picture in sight during his postgame interview, saying that it's: "just amazing to hear those names. They're amazing players, it's nice to hear all those names but the most important thing is we got a win in Houston."

Dallas, winners of five straight, now moves to 11-5 on the season.

The Mavericks' win streak began eight days ago with a win over the defending champion Raptors and over the last five, Doncic is averaging 34.8 points, 10.8 assists and 9.8 rebounds.

Luka's big game against the Rockets comes less than a week after he scored a career-high 42 points, becoming the second 20-year-old to record a 40-point triple-double in NBA history.

It wasn't just Doncic that turned in a big performance at the Toyota Center, either.

While Tim Hardaway Jr. scored a season-high 31 points (10-18 FG, 5-11 3FG), Kristaps Porzingis turned in a big-time double-double with 23 points (9-17 FG, 2-5 3FG) and 13 rebounds in 33 minutes of action.

The Mavs will look to continue firing on all cylinders as they welcome Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and the LA Clippers to the American Airlines Center in two days.
