After a 13-year career, Chris Bosh has formally announced his retirement from professional basketball.

Bosh, who was selected with the No. 4 overall pick by the Toronto Raptors in the 2003 NBA Draft, made his last appearance in an NBA game over two years ago. The 34-year-old's career came to a halt 53 games into the 2015-16 season as a result of a reoccurring blood clot issue that held him out of the final 30 games of the 2014-15 well.

In what would ultimately be his final season in the NBA, Bosh earned the 11th All-Star selection of his career averaging 19.1 points and 7.4 rebounds per game for the Miami Heat.

Bosh steps away from the sport having averaged 19.2 points and 8.5 rebounds over 893 career games.

In seven seasons with the Toronto Raptors, Bosh averaged 20.2 points and 9.4 rebounds over 509 games, earning an All-Star selection in each of his final five seasons with the franchise. As it stands, Bosh remains in the Raptors' top-10 all-time in nearly every major statistical category.

After joining the Heat in the free agency period of 2010, Bosh would go on to earn six more All-Star selections and win back-to-back NBA titles in 2012 and 2013.

In six seasons with the Heat, Bosh averaged 18.0 points and 7.3 rebounds over 384 games.

The Heat recently announced that they would be retiring Bosh's No. 1 jersey in a ceremony on March 26, 2019.
