Carmelo Anthony is one step closer to becoming a member of the Houston Rockets. According to reports from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Yahoo! Sports' Shams Charania, the 10-time All-Star has cleared waivers and become an unrestricted free agent.

Anthony was included in the deal that brought Dennis Schröder to the Oklahoma City Thunder earlier this month. While Schröder has the potential to be a difference-maker on the Thunder, the Hawks planned on buying Anthony out when they acquired him.

Anthony is expected to join Chris Paul and James Harden on the Houston Rockets now that he has become an unrestricted free agent.
