It was a big weekend for Khem Birch (Montreal, QC) and the Orlando Magic.

After a six-game road trip, the Magic returned to the Amway Center where they defeated two of the league's top teams on a rare home back-to-back. The Canadian moment of the week came in the first half of Orlando's 105-103 win over Boston Saturday when Birch electrified the home crowd with this putback dunk.

Magic forward Aaron Gordon's drove baseline to set up a well-contested layup that he failed to convert, but no one boxed out Birch.

Big mistake.

He put his athleticism on full display by rising above Celtics' second-year sensation Jayson Tatum to throw down a vicious one-handed follow. The Montreal native provided Orlando with a boost of energy throughout the night - he finished with four points, a season-high 10 rebounds and four blocks in under 18 minutes of action.

The next night, Birch played a role in the Magic's seven-point win over the Rockets as he scored seven points, pulled down three rebounds and dished out two assists in under 13 minutes.

Although Birch has only appeared in 19 games this season and is averaging just 2.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per game, the big man's recent surge since being inserted into the rotation has paid dividends for his team. The big man's energy and activity on both ends of the floor is a welcome sight for the Magic, who enter the week just a half-game back for the East's final playoff spot.

Orlando will again look to Birch for a burst of energy this week as it takes on Detroit, Brooklyn and Milwaukee.
