FIBA released an updated version of their world rankings on Tuesday and remains ranked 23rd overall.

Despite qualifying for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 in China and winning Group F finishing with a 10-2 record the Canadians haven’t budged on the world list.

The biggest climbers on the list included Estonia, Cote d'Ivoire and Chile who Canada defeated 85-46 last week in St John’s.

Zambia, Mozambique and Somalia were amongst the biggest fallers on the new list.

The top eight teams remained unchanged from the previous edition with the only movement in the top ten coming with Russia and Australia swapping spots.

Among the teams from the Americas region, Canada is in eighth spot heading into the World Cup in August.

For the first time ever, 32 teams will battle for the World Cup in China. Seven teams will directly qualify for the Olympics through the World Cup.

The next FIBA men's world ranking will be updated following the conclusion of the World Cup which runs from August 31 to September 15.
