Canada's 2018 September training camp roster features six NBA players

On Tuesday, Canada Basketball announced the training camp roster for this month's FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 Americas Qualifiers.

September's roster features six of the 14 Canadians that will participate in an NBA training camp later in the month and three former NBA champions (Joel Anthony, Cory Joseph and Tristan Thompson).

Team Canada is in qualifying Group F along with Venezuela, Brazil, Chile, the Dominican Republic and U.S. Virgin Islands. In this window of qualifiers, Canada will face Brazil on Thursday, Sept. 13 and Chile on Monday, Sept. 17.

The three highest-placed teams from Group F will automatically qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019, which takes place in China from Aug. 31-Sept. 15 2019.
