Boston Celtics announce plans to retire Kevin Garnett's jersey

In the Boston Celtics' own words they had "waited long enough".

The No. 5 jersey of Kevin Garnett is going to be retired, in what is sure to be an emotional ceremony on March 13th.

Boston will face Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks on the day, as one of the most competitive stars the game has seen will join the other legends of the Celtics franchise in the rafters.

Garnett spent six seasons in Boston, winning Defensive Player of the Year and the title in his first season with the franchise in 2008. All up, he would make five All-Star appearances in his tenure with the Celtics, averaging 15.7 points and 8.3 rebounds across 396 regular season outings.
