LeBron James is dealing with more than the pain of losing his sixth NBA Finals. The 15-year veteran says he played the last three games with a severely injured right hand.
"Self-inflicted ... after Game 1," he said. "Very emotional ... the way we played, the calls that were made, I had emotions that the game was taken away from us.. Pretty much played the last three games with a broken hand."
James scored 51 points in Game 1, a brutal 124-114 overtime loss in which J.R. Smith dribbled out the final seconds of regulation after grabbing an offensive rebound with the score tied.
That set the stage for the ninth Finals sweep in NBA history, and the second for James and the Cavaliers after their 2007 loss to the Spurs.
James wasn't at his best in Game 4 - at least by his standards -- with 23 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. He still had one of the most productive Finals ever, averaging 34 points, 8.5 rebounds and 10 assists over the four games.
