NBA Canada Series 2019 to feature LA Clippers, Dallas Mavericks in Vancouver

TORONTO, July 9, 2019 The National Basketball Association (NBA) today announced that the seventh NBA Canada Series presented by Bell will feature the LA Clippers and the Dallas Mavericks playing a 2019 preseason game at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Thursday, October 17.

The Clippers will take on Toronto-native Dwight Powell and the Mavericks in the fifth preseason game played in Vancouver as part of NBA Canada Series presented by Bell. The game will also mark the Clippers’ second appearance in NBA Canada Series presented by Bell and the first appearance for the Mavericks. Approximately a quarter of a million Canadians have attended 13 games in five cities since NBA Canada Series presented by Bell launched in 2012.

Tickets will go on sale Thursday, July 25. Fans in Canada are encouraged to register for exclusive presale ticket access at NBA.com/CanadaSeries.

NBA Canada Series presented by Bell will feature fan events, NBA legend appearances and an NBA Cares program in Vancouver. In addition to presenting partner Bell, supporting partners include Miller Genuine Draft, Nike and Tangerine.

At the 2019 NBA Awards, the Clippers’ Lou Williams won the Kia NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award for the third time in his career. The Mavericks’ Luka Dončić was named Kia NBA Rookie of the Year, following a standout season that saw him record the third-most triple-doubles by a rookie in NBA history (eight).

The 2018-19 NBA regular season set new records in Canada for broadcast viewership, merchandise sales, national partnerships and activations. The 2019 NBA Finals, which saw the Toronto Raptors win the first NBA Championship outside of the U.S., saw 56% of the Canadian population watch part of the six-game series.
